Bengali cine star Jisshu U Sengupta who plays the lead of Kamaleshwar Mukherjee’s next venture ‘Mukhomukhi’ confessed that he failed to understand the plotof the movie when the director first narrated it to him.
Jisshu made this confession during the press conference of the
movie which was held at a city hotel recently.
The actor who is known for his stellar performances in huge number
Bengali films as well as highly successful Bollywood flicks like
‘Mardaani’, ‘Barfi’ and ‘Piku’ plays the role of Shounak in the film.
Shounak is an aspiring musician. Jisshu has been casted opposite Payel
Sarkar in Mukhomukhi and the two plays separated couple.
During the press conference Jishu said, “ I really could not
understand the concept of the when I listen to the first narration. It
took many one on one sessions with the director to make me understand
the plot as well as my character. Then I realised that this is
everyone’s story and every single person can relate it with their own
respective lives.”
The movie also stars a bevy of well known actors which includes
Rajatava Dutta, Gargee Roy Chowdhury, Saheb Bhattyacharya, Darshana
Banik, Ushashie Chakrabrty and Anjan Dutta.
Gagee Roy Chowdhury will be portraying the role of a middle aged
novelist. Rajatava will be seen in the role of her husband. Veteran
actor Anjan Dutta has been casted in the role of a globe trotter who
turns the life of Gargee’s character upside down.
The movie will be narrated to the audience in a non-linear form, a
narrative style rarely ventured in Bengali film Industry. It will be
interesting to watch how the director and Ace editor fares through the
challenging path of non linear narrative. The script has been written
by Padmanava Dasgupta, another ace in his own field.
The music of the film has been composed by Debojyoti Mishra and one
can bet it to be soulful.
The movie releases in the month of February next year.
